Brain Type Test

Left, right, or balanced?

About this test

20 questions (16 lifestyle + 4 visual perception) map your thinking habits. Left-brain types favor analysis and structure; right-brain types favor intuition and the whole picture. Visual items ask what stands out first; lifestyle items ask everyday choices.

There are no right answers — we measure which aspect catches your eye first. Takes about 2 minutes; results show your L/R ratio.

The left/right-brain distinction dates back to 1960s split-brain research. Modern neuroscience holds that most cognition engages both hemispheres together, so the idea that you 'only use one side' is overstated. Still, the difference between analytical and intuitive processing styles is real in daily life, and this test reflects that tendency in a light, casual way.

Treat the result as a starting point for noticing 'this is the mode I find easier.' A strong left lean pairs well with deliberately stepping back for the big picture; a strong right lean benefits from breaking tasks into written steps. Balanced types can switch between both as the situation calls for.

FAQ

QAre there right answers in the visual items?

No. We just measure which aspect catches your eye first — the parts (left brain) or the whole (right brain).

QDo I get the same result on retake?

Borderline scores (within 5 points) may shift; clear leans (5+ point gap) are stable across retakes.

QHow does this differ from MBTI 16 Types?

This measures one axis (Left vs Right). MBTI 16 covers four (E-I, S-N, T-F, J-P). For deeper analysis try 'MBTI 16 Types Test'.

QIs the left/right-brain split scientifically valid?

Strictly speaking, the idea that you 'only use one side' is overstated — most activities engage both hemispheres. But the individual difference between analytical and intuitive processing styles is real, and this test reflects that tendency.

QMy result says right-brain but I majored in science. Contradiction?

Not at all. Your major or job doesn't map one-to-one to brain lean. There are highly analytical artists and deeply intuitive engineers. This test looks at which mode feels easier, not at ability.
